About me
An introduction
Welcome to my website, thanks so much for visiting. Here's a little bit about me...
Having grown up in Devon and settled in Dorset, I have a deep love of the countryside in the south west of England and try to get outside whenever I can. I'm often inspired by the beautiful Jurassic coast and being by the sea. I love to get in the water.
I've had a slightly meandering path to where I am now. On a a family holiday in Fife in Scotland as a child, I remember sitting captivated, watching a potter at Crail Pottery throwing on a wheel. I had never seen anything like it before. I sat watching the potter and his clay, in a bit of a trance, for a long time and the memory of that stayed with me. If people asked me at that age what I wanted to do when I grew up, I would say I'd like to be a potter.
I studied languages at university in London, and after starting a job in finance trained to be a lawyer. When we relocated to Dorset with our young family I decided to focus on pottery, which I had taken up as a hobby when our eldest child was little.
With my cosy home studio in Dorchester, I have been able to start developing my own work and love getting lost in a world of clay. My favourite thing is to share that with others and see people using and enjoying my creations.
